Ascendance Adds to Orders

Ascendance Flight Technologies has accumulated tentative orders for 245 ATEA aircraft, according to a July 22 report in FlightGlobal. The France-based eVTOL developer has secured letters of intent with six operators in France, Singapore, the Philippines and the US. “We are impressed with Ascendance’s technical decisions with respect to power plant and the ability to incrementally improve the emissions profile of the aircraft over the first few years of its introduction into service,” said James Hopkins, chairman of the California-based FlyShare, a prospective customer. Ascendance unveiled the five-seat ATEA in December and expects to begin testing a full-scale prototype next year.
